Understanding your filters

​

LIKE A DRYER, YOUR INDOOR UNIT has filters that need to be emptied. They play an important role in keeping dirt, dust and pet dander away from the unit's coils.

 

Clean filters allow a unit to function at peak performance, and contribute to the air quality in your home. 

 

Dirty or blocked filters can cause 2 problems for your system:

less PERFORMANCE

Your unit system can experience a 20-30% reduction in air circulation, which will reduce heat and air conditioning 

SYSTEM STRESS

Reduced air circulation potentially reduces the life of the compressor, which is an expensive repair

HOW DO I CLEAN MY FILTERS?

REMOVE FILTERS

Slide out the filters which will either be on top, or inside the cover which lifts up

RINSE THEM

Fully rinse filters under lukewarm water, using a few drops of mild dish soap

LET THEM DRY

Let them dry naturally. Do NOT use a towel or blow dryer.

PUT THEM BACK

Make sure they are completely dry and slide them back through the guided tracking

Empty Filters EVERY *30-90dAYS

*You may reduce frequency if you find your filters to be fairly dust free
